[Not a SCCA run event - possible interest to members]

It is the second year of the Swanpool Motor Festival. 2019 saw 180 display cars and we are hoping to exceed this number in 2020.

The Albert Heaney Oval Committee invite you and your club members to attend our Festival on Sunday 2nd February 2020 from 8am to 2pm.

The Swanpool Motor Festival is a community event run by locals to raise funds to upkeep the oval and facilities.  Local CFA Brigades and the Primary School all share in the proceeds on the day.

The Festival concept is to park your display vehicle on the oval ($5 entry) and share in the prize pool exceeding $2000.  Owners and members of the public are encouraged to look at the other display vehicles, mingle and enjoy yourself in a relaxed country setting, partaking in local food, wine, coffee, visiting the swap meet and market stalls, whilst listening to a band and the live broadcast from Radio Mansfield 99.7FM.

Shannons Insurance are one of our sponsors, providing show bags with merchandise from our other sponsors along with the public choice trophy. Display cars must be parked before 11 am and must remain on the oval until 1pm when the prize winners will be announced. I hope that you and your club members will attend our Festival and I look forward to meeting each of you and your vehicles on the day.

If you are concerned that the weather might be warm then you can relax in the air-conditioned pavilion, enjoying morning tea or lunch with the reassurance that the oval will be surrounded with the three local CFA Brigades, Swanpool, Samaria and Lima South, taking gold coin donations at the gates.

Entry for display vehicles is via Swanpool-Lima Road which is at the southern end of the Swanpool Football Ground.

*********************** Update ************************

The prize pool for display cars has exceeded $2500 and is expected to reach $3000 before the festival.

If you were considering or are coming to the second Swanpool Motor Festival on Sunday 2nd February, 2020 then you might also consider attending one or both of the screenings to be held on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd February 2020.

Swanpool is a small town with the famous Swanpool Cinema, situated almost next door to the Swanpool Oval.  The Cinema is screening “Ford V Ferrari” on Saturday and Sunday evenings and “Tucker the man and his dream” on Sunday afternoon, immediately after the Swanpool Motor Festival finishes.

Why not consider making your visit a weekend trip by combining both the Motor Festival and Cinema screenings.  The last screening of “Tucker” at the Swanpool Cinema late last year saw the only Tucker motor vehicle in Australia, parked outside the theatre.
